Santino Sgambelluri

I’ve heard you cats & kiddies grousing about the dearth of top-notch male jazz vocalists in Our Fair City. Well, one just blew in from (of all the unlikliest places) Guam (but who has much say-so over where they’re born & raised?). Santino’s background spans acapella, classic rock, and straight-ahead jazz. That his life’s love is now jazz is readily apparent in his vocalizing. With such influences as John Hendricks, Rachelle Ferrell, Kurt Elling, Take 6, etc. is it any wonder that THIS CAT CAN SKAT?!!! What a set of pipes, and what mastery of the jazz idiom! If you ain’t heard Tino hold forth yet you’re in for a rare treat when you do. But be forewarned, even if you’re wearing only rubbah sleepahs, THIS CAT WILL BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF!!!!!
