Reggie Padilla

Reginald Padilla

Born and raised in Long Island New York, Reggie plays the piano and the saxophone.   He moved from the Big Apple to the Pineapple (Honolulu) in January of 2007.  And New York’s loss is our gain because I can tell you, this cat has some chops!  In only the short time he’s been here, he’s landed a gig blowing piano on a cruise-liner, held forth with such luminaries as: Valery Ponomarev (legendary Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers trumpet), Gabe Baltazar (Honolulu’s own native son who became world-famous blowing alto with Stan Kenton), and well, I could go on and on but suffice it to say that the local (and visiting) heavies recognize that this cat is world-class and scramble to book him with their ensembles.

Reggie was featured on piano in Kyle Jason’s “Why Am I So Funky?” video which aired on BET On Jazz’s cable TV program.  And Kyle even had him blowing keys on his latest CD, “Revolution Of The Cool”.

Check out Reggie’s My Space website at http://www.myspace.com/reginaldpadilla.  It’s a gas; his friends are all so witty.
