Chicago’s loss is Honolulu’s gain. Welcome to paradise Dan. This cat is one heavy weight pianist. (No pun intended, Fat Daddy – hehe.) On a regular grand piano, Dan is nothing less than grand, and on the new electronic keyboards he can sound like a whole orchestra. Yours Truly has never had the opportunity to hear him blow a for-real Hammond B3, but if what I hear coming out of the organ mode when he’s on an electronic “piano” is any indication, I imagine it would be hard to tell the difference between him & Jimmy Smith, technique-wise.
