If the pic seems big it’s ‘cause this cat is larger than life. Chris is one of Yours Truly’s favorite jazz-blues guitarists. I say “jazz-blues” because he does mostly what in the vernacular is called “urban blues” which is the closest in the blues world to jazz. Don’t get me wrong, I like Delta blues, country blues, bluegrass blues, and so on, but The Old Hipster is a jazz cat and for me Chris is as jazzy as they come. He almost invariably picks his sidemen from the jazz world and just as invariably they make really groovy music together. Whether you like jazz or blues (or both) Chris V is sure to give you a groove you can get off on.
